I didn’t know about this until a colleague told me about it but during December, there was a Lego and Hot Toys display of Star Wars figures at Times Square! Oh my god I was so happy when I got to see it, even though it was drizzling with rain. Outside was giant Lego and there was a small indoors area with a TV and regular sized Lego displays. Up at the atrium was the Hot Toys display featuring characters from the latest movie, The Force Awakens.
And now to spam photos!
Please excuse the raindrops and reflections, heh. But anyway, the above Lego displays had larger versions on display outside! In the exact same pose/layout too. It was rather hard to take a photo of the entire thing since there were a lot of people around and, more importantly, I was using a 35mm lens…
The Tydirium was hard to take photos of especially since there was a narrow space in front of it. And lots of people queuing up to take photos with it.
There were also a lot of giant Lego minifigures too! And the lightsabers also lit up which was a nice touch.
Behind the giant snowspeeder and AT-AT was a small room with more Lego displays and lots of kiddies crowded around a TV screen.
There were also three large panels of, I’m guessing, all the Star Wars Lego minifigures released over the years. Pretty neat!
And I wish I could steal them all.
Upstairs in the atrium was the Hot Toys display. They brought the 1/6 scale Millenium Falcon out again! And added a transporter too! This time all the figures are First Order stormtroopers. Aahhh so cuuuute~
There were also costumes of Captain Phasma, Kylo Ren, First Order Stormtrooper and Rey on display. Aaaand a 1:1 scale of BB-8.
This Star Wars exhibition made me so happy! If the giant Lego didn’t make me happy enough already, the Hot Toys display was absolutely awesome and really made my day, haha.
