Laputa: Castle in the Sky Paper Craft

Here’s another miniatuart paper kit from Sankei featuring a scene from a Studio Ghibli movie – Laputa: Castle in the Sky.  I learnt from my previous experience and used PVA glue instead of liquid UHU glue which was much better for gluing down the fake greenery.  A lot less messier and no ‘spider webs’ appearing!

Kyoto / Osaka Trip Loot

I went to Japan back in April for a week or so and spent 4 days at Kyoto, 1 day in Nara and 2.5 days at Osaka.  I spent… more than I should have.  And having a credit card on me only helped that money vortex spin more easily.  =’D  Most of it was splurged when I returned to Osaka since Kyoto and Nara had a lot more sight seeing activities.  Nevertheless, I still dropped over 10,000 JPY at Pokemon Center Kyoto on the first day.  Hm.

Without further ado, let’s start the photo spam!

Too much stuff to try and organise them neatly for an overall loot photo, oops.

Totoro paper art

I’ve had this paper art kit for over a year and I have finally made it.  Ah yes, fish being lazy as per usual.  This is from Sankei’s miniatuart paper kits and I’ve never really made one before.  Parts of this kit also included fake grass/greenery which I also never used before.  Kinda odd considering I went through 5 years of architecture school but using fake greenery like that was banned in the first year, heh.

Time to do what I do best and spam photos!

CWTHK6 loot

2 months later, loot post appears.  I’m catching up with my backlog entries!  But no idea when I’ll finish processing my holiday backlog photos…. Anyway, the doujin event was back in early October and… there weren’t that many people around.  I guess CWTHK has always had the least amount of attendees compared to RG and CWHK.  It’s a lot more relaxing to walk around in as a result.  Also, I don’t know why but the hall kept on looping amu’s old songs…!?  I think it was from his first official album.

There wasn’t much to buy because there were a lot of sword boys Touken Ranbu and Love Live.  Not into those fandoms, thank god, because my money…. D:  As a result, this was probably my smallest haul from a doujin event so far.

Yep.  That’s it.
